Fresh Powder!

Moose!  There were two of them, but far away.  My phone's camera wasn't strong enough at all.

Found a tree adorned with treats for birds and other wildlife.  Awesome idea!

Blazing a trail in the new powder

Me, Jann, Mandy!  First time on snowshoes for Mandy!

Moose print :)

We struggled with some DEEP snow in places, but had a BLAST!

Ogden Nordic

We turned West & found a small canyon with a little creek down below.  Shadow and I made the first tracks in the new snow.
Sharing the shot of e+ energy drink.  The cute little volunteer didn't know how to work a camera phone.
I loved stopping and pausing to look at the scenery.  The quiet is so awesome.  Totally alone except for Shadow the collie girl.
Picnic table piled high with snow.  Beautiful day, even though it was snowing.

First Snowshoe Experience

My snowshoes.  Took a little getting used to.  Shadow kept stepping on the back of them! We went to Ogden Nordic, and North Fork Park in Liberty, Utah.
We stopped for a minute to enjoy the sounds of the birds, and listen to the quiet.  When you're walking it's crunch and noisy.  Isn't it cool how Laurie pulled the little sled?
Laurie and Kristy.  Laurie pulled 7 month old Haven in this little sled.  She was in a carseat inside & slept the whole time.  Shadow had a blast, too.
Thank heavens for Laurie Zeleznick!  She introduced me to the Ogden Nordic Center, and got me out of the house & up the mountain.
Such a beautiful day.  I love the mountains, I love outside.  I loved how warm it felt, even though the temperatures were in the teens.
This is the Yurt at the beginning.  Snowshoe rentals, cross country and skate ski rentals, and a place to warm up.  Laurie brought a crockpot full of the yummiest chicken and wild rice soup.  Mmmmm.

Arizona Hiking

Here's the view of Downtown Phoenix on my short hike on South Mountain.  I am down in Phoenix for an Isagenix convention called NYKO {New Year Kick Off}.  I hiked with the beautiful Katja Chen this evening.  Very different type of trail, but beauty abounds everywhere. 2 miles for a total of 3 today.  My total walk hike for week 1 ~ 14 miles.
